about

Parallel Dances in its first incarnation came to us from our dearest friend and fellow bandmate Colin Ablitt in the form of a laid back acoustic track. Since then it has gone through several transitions, some bordering on punk rock, until we finally settled on this catchy pop-rock version. Enjoy.

lyrics

Laughing by the light of the TV screen
Maybe you're laughing along with me.
Someone is filming her alone on the beach.
Someone is sitting still in a forest of bees

A moitié eveillé in his hospital gown
Singing with the choir while grace rains down
Coffee by the light of oncoming cars
Peeking through the window to the world that is not.

Passing through dreams in a half-sleep haze
Digging for treasure that cannot be contained
The feel of your body in the warm earthen light
Oh, perfect summer night!

Oh, what are you dancing to?
